What type of artwork do you create?
Though I often am asked to create works that are more "realistic"
in style, as you explore the photo galleries listed at the left, you will
find a variety of styles. You will see classical-styled terra-cotta
figures, metal sculptures created in a graphic style, and even mural paintings. I also restore damaged work for other artists, collectors
and galleries.

APC Medal UPDATE: The Monnaie de Paris has finished casting the Cunningham Medal in bronze! The finished medals are expected to be delivered later in January. This medal will be featured in the Paris
mint's 2012 catalog. Finished medal shown below:

Completed Project:
"The Ann Pamela Cunningham Medal." This award medal, named
after the founder of The Mount Vernon Ladies' Association, has
been sculpted in clay and then cast in plaster as shown below.
The reverse features a view of the Mont Vernon mansion as seen
from the river. This 288mm sculpture (aprox 11 inches) was
reduced down to it's 72mm final form.

New version of the "Night" Maquette is now for sale
I have been getting a lot of requests to offer a new series of small
casts of the "Night" model (also know as a "maquettte.") I have
restored one of the original models used for the full-sized version
of "Night" and cast just a few copies of it. This 14" wide x 8" High maquette is hand cast in either resin or hydrocal-plaster (your choice) for $185. I also offer framing of this piece for $75 and FedEx
shipping on this item (and all items) is available at a reasonable rate.
Just send me an email and I'll get one out to you or send one as a
gift to someone for you. I accept all credit cards over the phone.

January 2012
NEW and NEWS
Flickering Flame, a steel and stainless steel outdoor sculpture
was completed and is now located at it's new home in the Shenandoah. It is shown below with Pat Bennet who
commissioned the sculpture for her fabulous new garden.
The stainless steel grass-like ribbons sway in the breeze.

Detail of Flickering Flame base is shown below:

Next Project: Fort Ethan Allen
I just received the "go ahead" and contract from Arlington County
to proceed with the bronze plaque of the civil war earth-works fort, Fort Ethan Allen. The plaque will be approximately 17" x 30" mounted on a cement sculpted "boulder" to represent the terrain around Fort Ethan Allen as it was in 1860. A clay fort mock-up
has been started.
...and also Sysiphus TWO
I have 98% finished constructing a welded 14" figure out of
stainless steel rods and pieces. This will be a part of a larger
sculpture. A finished sketch will be shown here soon...
Next Public Art Competition: Contraband and Freedman Cemetery
I am waiting to hear about my entry for the cemetery's sculpture program competition. The sculpture plan for the site includes the development of three or more bronze figures to represent the 1700 people buried at the cemetery. These will be slightly larger than life, realistic sculptures. The winning artist will work with the experts from Alexandria Archeology who will offer direction to ensure historical accuracy. Word was supposed to be sent out last month (Dec) as to the finalists selected. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
About "Sketch of the Month"
In addition to finished works shown in my photo galleries, each month I want to show you a "work in progress." This is usually something you might see wandering around my real-world studio. So, even if you are unable to visit Studio 33 as often as you'd like, you can always stop back here and see what's new -online. I hope you enjoy looking at these sketches, works-in-progress and models. Remember to stop back frequently to see what's new in Studio 33.
