The George Washington Mural features the life and legacy of Washington in and around Virginia.
The GWmural is 10 feet tall and 1,200 feet in length and was completed by two Virginia artists; Patrick Kirwin and Christopher Erney. This is the longest realistic-styled mural in the Untied States. It consists of thirteen scenes from Washington's life, as well as a 2000 sq ft Trompe L'oeil section of giant-scaled vintage items featuring Washington's portrait. This Trompe L'oeil sections is called "The Legacy of Washington."
Each of the thirteen scenes depicted represents a National Park site within a day's drive of Alexandria, Virginia. The hope is that the mural will provide education and enjoyment for those passing by and will encourage viewers to make the trip to explore an actual historical sites.
